A Keur Stallion
It takes an EXCEPTIONAL stallion to maintain an internationally SUCESSFUL reputation in this industry. Year after year Mermus R produces the goods at the highest levels worldwide. In Ireland we expect to hear alot about Mermus R’s progeny in 2017 with his first crop of 120 foals turning 7 year olds a number of these have already made their International debuts with many more expected to start the next level of their careers in 2017. We’re sure with these progeny coming on stream Mermus can look forward to many more years of successful results.
His sire Burggraaf himself jumped Internationally. In showjumping breeding globally, Burggraaf is one of the most successful producers of showjumpers. As well as this, Burggraaf is worldwide represented by more than thirty approved sons. Mermus R was bred by Stal Roelofs out of the ‘preferent’ mare Dwermie.
Mermus R was awarded the ‘Keur’ predicate by the KWPN Studbook in 2010 based on his success as a performance. See his report below:
“The Burggraaf son Mermus R has a high jumping index thanks to the outstanding performances of his offspring. They are known for their good jumping form at selections and in the sport” KWPN Studbook. Mermus R completed an outstanding talent test with good basic paces, which included an impressive canter (8.5); for take-off, technique and power he scored consecutively 8.5, 8 and 9.
International progeny performers of Mermus R include Nations Cup horse Rubert R (Peter Charles), Sebastian (Scott Brash), Talent(Nina Fagerstrom) and Macoemba(Todd Minkus) and many many more, as a damsire In 2010 Boemerrang (Namelus R x Mermus R) won the four year old Vion Cup in the Netherlands and sold for €260,000. More recently in 2017 the Stallion ‘Jordan’ out of a Mermus R mare finished in 3rd place at the KWPN stallion show.
Mermus R is a blood and handsome horse who should suit a variety of mares.
